Track your competitors' Meta ads in your reports

Nov 3, 2026 · Connectors

The new Meta Ad Library connector brings ads from Meta's public Ad Library into Google Sheets, Supermetrics Studio, your data warehouse or your AI chat. Search by keyword or by a competitor's Facebook Page IDs.

Until now, checking what a competitor ran on Facebook and Instagram meant searching the Ad Library website and copying ads into a spreadsheet by hand. Now you can pull those ads into the same reports as your own campaign data and refresh them whenever your report runs.

Search by keyword or by Page ID

When you build a query, choose how to search under Search by. Keyword searches the text of the ads, and a space between words means both have to appear. Page IDs returns every ad from up to ten Facebook Pages, separated by commas, so you can follow a named competitor without guessing their keywords.

You can also set Country, Ad category and Ad status (All, Active or Inactive). There's no account to pick when you connect, because all Ad Library data is public.

What's in the data

The Ad Library report gives you one row per ad: the ad text, link titles and captions, delivery start and stop dates, Page name, publisher platforms, languages, targeting and a snapshot link to the ad itself. The Demographic breakdown report shows each ad's reach by country, age range and gender.

The date range works on delivery dates. An ad is included if it started during the range or was still running in it, so Last month can return an ad that started two years ago and is still live.

Before you start

Meta asks every user to verify their identity once at facebook.com/ID before the Ad Library API returns data. Approval usually takes one to three business days, and until then your queries return an identity verification error. Start the check before you need the data.

The Ad Library API keeps ads for a shorter time than the Ad Library website, so some older ads you can see there won't come through.

What you could build

With the data in your reports, you could build:

  • a tracker of how long each competitor ad runs and which messages they keep
  • a swipe file of hooks, formats and calls to action from your category
  • an alert for ads that use your brand name without your permission
  • a competitor ad landscape for an agency pitch
  • a board that puts competitor activity next to your own Facebook Ads results

Pick one competitor, add their Page IDs to a new query, and see what they've been running.
